An Universal and Socio-Emotional Example Script
Below is narration written, using the I. S.E.E. U. framework for a short (30 second) educational animation called "The School Board Member". It is part of the "We The People" YouTube channel currently being produced as part of The EPIC Project. When writing like this, a separate version with audio descriptions is not needed because the 'where' and 'when' is included in the dialogue or voice over. In this example a four part story and a four part socio-emotional framework is also integrated.
Scene 1

The socio-emotional component is: Our tribal nature (the sense of belonging to a second group, in this case, the school board... although, being sat at the end of the table where they are not yet part of the inner circle).
Scene 3
It's pretty tense. People in the audience are shouting at each other over a disagreement.
The visual narrative component is: People in the audience are shouting at each other.
The story component is: Body: the problem is exacerbated.
The socio-emotional component is: Our primal (fight or flight) brains: this is the emotional connection.
Scene 4
But, I am looking cool and collected, drawing confidence that I have done the research on the topic. I can make an informed decision about the future of our local schools....
The visual narrative component is: I am looking cool and collected.
The story component is: Resolution: staying level headed despite the chaos of the situation.
The socio-emotional component is: Our logical brains (a deliberate process in this case) : Being prepared brings calm confidence.
